Monitor CalibrationAlthough everything possible has been done to present the images on screen as per print, each monitor varies in degrees of both contrast and brightness. To ensure you view the images on the website at their best it is advisable to use the step wedge as a guide. This represents shades of grey from 0% (white) through to 100% (black). Set your monitor contrast to 100%, and then adjust the brightness setting until each wedge is clearly defined when compared to the next. Also most LCD monitors tend to have a bluish colour cast and can give an unfair representation of the images, especially for (toned) black & white. This can be corrected by using the colour controls for the monitor; increase the red slider (amount) until a neutral grey is achieved. |
