Monitor Calibration
Although everything possible has been done to present the images on screen as per print, each monitor varies in degrees of both contrast and brightness. To ensure you view the images on the website at their best it is advisable to use the step wedge as a guide, which can be found in the gallery section: Monitor Calibration. This represents shades of grey from 0% (white) through to 100% (black). Set your monitor contrast to 100%, and then adjust the brightness setting until each wedge is clearly defined when compared to the next. Also with most LCD displays you tend to get a bluish colour cast, which can affect the appearance of an image on screen, in particular black & white (toned). To overcome this I would recommend increasing the red slider (amount) on the monitor controls until the grey wedges appear neutral in colour. Although in an ideal world every monitor should be calibrated, this I feel is the next best option to doing justice to the pictures on screen; please note that some of the colour images do appear slightly too saturated on 3rd party monitors. All images on this website are from small resolution files and are merely an aid in letting you (the viewer) get a feel for a particular picture.
